Lady Eagles Basketball Adds New Team Member, Wins Two in a Row

The WCA Girls’s Basketball team welcomes player and new student Armani Franklin. This big win at home came after a tough loss to Nansemond Suffolk Academy, the top ranked VISAA Division 2 program* with a NCAA Division 1 scholarship commit on the roster. The NSA Lady Saints constitute both of the Lady Eagles losses this season.

On the strength of their victory over Amelia, Coach Jones’ squad headed to Atlantic Shores Christian to battle yet another Division 2 Opponent in the 4th ranked Seahawks*. Spearheaded by Radford commit senior Charnissa Chillers 24 points and 18 rebounds, the Eagles cruised to a 66-53 victory away. As a result of this strong performance, the Lady Eagles have now surged to a 5-2 record and are ranked 3rd overall in VISAA Division 3*.

The Team will next face Newport News schools Warwick and Woodside High Schools in a mini-tournament held Friday, December 18th and Saturday, December 19th at WCA at 5:30PM each day.
