WCA Hosts 5th Annual Katie’s Challenge 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on October 1, 2016

Williamsburg Christian Academy is pleased to announce registration is now open for the 5th Annual Katie’s Challenge 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, October 1st, 2016. The tournament is dedicated to WCA graduate Katie Mausteller, who passed away while at college in a tragic accident. Katie was a standout Lady Eagle basketball player who inspired her teammates with an infectious spirit and love of God. Mausteller graduated from Williamsburg Christian Academy in 2008, and played basketball and soccer. In 2007, she scored 500 points in a basketball season and 1,000 total, and was a team captain her senior year.

This year’s motivational speaker will be Dr. Kevin Swann. Dr. Swann is an author, Pastor and motivational speaker. Kevin has traveled across the country and the world delivering messages of hope and inspiration. His desire is to help people reach their full potential in life.

In addition, Dr. Swann has a passion for helping pastors and church leaders with team building, vision-casting and other leadership challenges that religious organizations commonly experience. Dr. Swann has presented at various conferences and churches across the country, (including the noted Hampton University Minister’s Conference, the largest ecumenical conference in the world) helping them address critical issues that prevent progress from taking place.

The tournament will feature games in four division for both girls and boys, from Middle School catering to 5th through 8th graders, all the way to the Seniors Open division, for collegiate players and older. There will be a shooting contest as well as awards and a barbecue dinner for all registrants.

Cost of entry is $25/player and will include a tourney t-shirt and dinner. Interested players should visit http://bit.ly/katieschallenge to download a registration form. Inquiries of any nature can be sent to Chris Brown, the tourney coordinator, at brownc@williamsburgchristian.org, or call 757-220-1798 x123.
