WCA Honors Veterans in Stirring Veterans Day Assembly

WCA students, faculty, and families came together to honor veterans last Friday in a respectful and heartfelt ceremony. The 4th and 5th grade shared a song in American Sign Language, students read scriptures and meaningful letters, and upper school students Zane Eckols and Kathryn Bjers performed a beautiful dramatic skit entitled “The American Life We Cherish”.

We were blessed to have Retired Chaplain Doug Kinder as our guest speaker, and he delivered a very touching message on the deeper meaning of this special day and the sacrifice our veterans and their families make for all of us.

Veterans in attendance universally expressed how touched they were by the ceremonies and thankful to have attended and see God’s work in our students and their efforts to recognize all of them in thanks for their service.
