Early Dismissal Available for all WCA High School Students Who Wish to Cheer on Varsity Basketball Game Friday

One of the many joys of high school is the ability to watch a successful team move into the highest form of competition. Whether the team is an athletics or an arts team, their success is ours.
As you are aware, we have a very successful basketball program for both our ladies and gentlemen. If our teams successfully compete on Wednesday evening, we move ahead to great games on Friday, March 4. If your student wishes to attend the team’s successful next steps on Friday, then, they will need to be dismissed from WCA on Friday at 10:00am.
It is not possible for your student  to simply sign-out. Instead, please know that we must have a written note, signed by a parent, and delivered on Thursday or Friday morning. We can only accept written permission notes for high school students! We will not accept telephone permissions, e-mail, or texts. No middle school students are permitted to leave school for these contests.
If your student intends to attend the Friday game and depart from WCA at 10:00am, they may not load their car with WCA students. Only one student guest in each car please. Parents are invited to drive and multiple students may ride in a family car operated by an adult. Again, please plan accordingly. Only high school students may be dismissed; parents may drive, and in all cases the permission note should state clearly with whom each student is riding.
Last, any work missed on Friday is the responsibility of the student and students should clearly communicate their intentions to their teachers as soon as possible. We do not have a bus to carry fans. This is a driving only event and we must follow the protocol of no more than two students in a car, letter from parent on Thursday or Friday (no emails, texts or telephone calls from parents will be permitted), and please inform us who will be in the car.
Congratulations to our coaches, athletes and their supportive families and fans as we enter these amazing basketball tournaments!”
