Bradshaw to Focus on Family Ministry

bradshaw transition

For two years, Mrs. Cassie Bradshaw has worked diligently to update WCA’s Admissions protocols. Additionally, Cassie has improved the on-campus tour experience for prospective families as they join our Christ-centered community. A member of the WCA Class of ’02, Cassie has served as an impeccable conduit for all incoming students as they transition at Williamsburg Christian Academy.

On Wednesday, June 17th, Cassie informed WCA’s leadership that she will begin focusing exclusively on her first ministry this summer, family. We thank sons Connor and Sam as well as husband, Michael, for sharing Cassie’s gifts with the WCA ministry since Summer 2018. We thank Cassie for her outstanding service to HIS ministry, and we pray for God’s continued blessings over her family. She has dutifully served HIS ministry.

As a result of Mrs. Bradshaw’s departure, Williamsburg Christian Academy’s Marketing and Admissions Department is restructuring to meet our strategic marketing and enrollment objectives over the next decade.

Flanagan Transitions to Admissions and Marketing Role

admissions transitionMrs. Michelle Flanagan will transition from Lower School Principal to become WCA’s Marketing and Messaging Ambassador effective Monday, July 6th. Michelle’s capacity for communicating the full narrative and scope of the ministry is impressive, and she will bring a high level of innovation to our marketing team. Additionally, Michelle will guide prospective WCA families through tours and assist them through seamless onboarding into our community.

Since 2011, Mrs. Flanagan has served the Lower School ministry with many roles.  We especially thank Michelle for her faithful stewardship of the Lower School since 2013, where she focused on faculty trauma training and professional development, student culture, and emphasizing WCA’s praise and worship culture during students’ most formative years in the spirit of Proverbs 22:6. Michelle is the mother of three Williamsburg Christian Academy graduates and understands the ministry well. Mrs. Flanagan will have a series of Admissions transition handoff meetings with Mrs. Bradshaw in July to better support her transition to the role.

Krebs to Expand into Admissions Administration and Process

One of our current administration front desk specialists, Mrs. Tracy Krebs, will see her duties expand to include the clerical aspects of onboarding new students and families at WCA. Tracy will receive inquiries and guide families through the application process. Mrs. Krebs’s administrative skill set will be a blessing to WCA’s enrollment ministry, and we thank God for her appointment.

Past Board President Henley to Assist With Outreach Development

engagement transitionMrs. Judy Henley, past Board President and mother of two WCA graduates, will serve as Ministry External Affairs and Development Ambassador. Judy will work closely with the Head of School’s Office and Marketing Department to build WCA’s community relationships and networks, collaborate with the fundraising team, and strategically connect in person with families from Richmond to Norfolk who are interested in a Christ-centered differentiated learning environment. Judy completed her Board service in 2019. We thank God that He has touched her heart to serve in this capacity.

Mrs. Noelle Rennolds Appointed as Lower School Principal

Mrs. Michelle Flanagan leaves a legacy of faithfulness and commitment to professionalism in the Lower School. Nationally, there are not many school leaders who would have the bandwidth to serve in such a substantial role with such a short transition, but God has blessed WCA with exactly such a person.  Mrs. Noelle Rennolds, who hails from Buffalo, NY, to serve as the next Lower School Principal of Williamsburg Christian Academy.

lower school transitionMrs. Rennolds holds a Master of Science in Administrative Supervision from Canisius College and permanent licensure in NY as a School District Administrator. Noelle served most recently as a Spanish instructor at Buffalo United Charter School. For nine years, Mrs. Rennolds served as Primary School Principal at Pembroke Primary School in Buffalo. In addition to her leadership experience, Mrs. Rennolds led Pembroke’s implementation of student 504 plans in New York. She will fit well with WCA’s Learning Support Services program as she implements Personalized Education Plans for Lower School students.

Noelle will assume her role as Lower School Principal on Monday, July 6th, and will collaborate closely with Head of School Johnny Graham to complete WCA’s Primary Years Program certification application next year. Additionally, Mrs. Rennolds will serve as one-third of WCA’s Academic Leadership Team with the Head of School and Mrs. Crystal Florakis, the Upper School Principal-In-Training for 2020/21. A series of Lower School leadership handoff meetings between Mrs. Rennolds and Mrs. Flanagan are planned throughout July to support Mrs. Rennolds’ transition.

Mrs. Rennolds’ husband, Jack, and daughter, Leah, will transition to Williamsburg with her as well as her parents. Leah will join WCA’s sophomore class this Fall. A child of a pastor, Noelle understands the demands of ministry communities, and we thank God for sending our next leader of the Lower School to us without delay. WCA’s Lower School faculty will meet Noelle on Friday, July 10th, at 10 am. Additionally, Lower School parents and families are invited to a special welcome reception for Mrs. Rennolds in the WCA Cafetorium on Tuesday, July 28th, at 1 pm.  WCA asks all those wishing to attend the reception for Mrs. Rennolds to RSVP to Mrs. J’me Ferguson at fergusonj@williamsburgchristian.org

WCA is accepting applications for all grades at this time for the 2020/2021 school year, and interested families can reach their Admissions Department to talk through options for enrollment, discounts, and scholarships, as well as offering a live virtual or social distanced tour of the school.
