Our Men’s Eagle Soccer Squad faced Alliance Christian twice in the span of a week as it wrapped it its regular season and continued in Metro Conference Tourney action.
Having just dispatched Alliance Christian the previous week, WCA as #3 seed squared off once again against Alliance once again with similar results, a resounding 8-1 victory.
The victory drew the Eagles into a match-up against foe Portsmouth Christian, a team they had not defeated in 2 previous matches this season. Unfortunately this game saw similar results, with the Eagles battling gallantly, but ultimately coming up short in a 5-2 defeat.
During Championship ceremonies, hosted Saturday at WCA, four Eagle players garnered ALL-Metro honors. Both Mike Duncan and Kyle Cardenas brought home first team honors, and Ryan Flanagan and Mike Enz were both named All-Metro Second Team.
Viewed by many as a rebuilding year for the Eagles after several key departures, finishing at their placement in the conference is certainly a heady accomplishment, and congratulations and thanks go out to Coaches Kim and Morissete for a great season on both the JJV and Varsity fronts. You are truly a blessing to the Academy, and we thank you for all your guidance you provided our students!
