Lady Eagles Finish Excellent Season With Tough Semi-Final Loss to Richmond Christian

Similar to our boys team, the Lady Eagles took a #1 seed into the VISAA D3 semi-finals, but were tripped up by a Richmond Christian team that had lost just 2 games all season. In a game that was hotly contested all night, WCA trailed slightly all the way until the end of the game, when Richmond Christian managed just enough of a surge to push the game out of reach at the end 63-58.

WCA (18-5) trailed by 10 points with 2 minutes, 13 seconds to play and trimmed the deficit to four twice in the last 34.5 seconds. Senior Charnissa Chillers led the Eagles with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and junior Armani Franklin tallied 17 points.

Although Coach Scott Jones acknowledged that the loss was tough, he lauded his players accomplishments in a stellar season effort.
