WCA Lady Eagles Win Two, Franklin Snares Rare Triple Double

Despite the fact that last weekend’s snows wiped out the Lady Eagles scheduled matchup against Portsmouth Christian, the Lady Eagles managed to get in two games in the past two weeks, both victories.

The St. Gertrude Gators visited WCA, coming in as a Division 1 team with a less than stellar record, but their consistent play against top quality opponents was not overlooked by Lady Eagle Coach Scott Jones. The team established an early lead, however, and were able to hold that lead throughout the second half. The team was led by Nissa Chillers 20 points, backed up by Aquazia Jones 12 points and 5 steals.

The team wrapped up their week setting a tone that the Boys team would continue in the later game, with a overwhelming victory over Denbigh Baptist. WCA placed six Eagles in Double figures en route to a 95-19 drubbing. The story of the game was junior Armani Franklin and her rare Points-Assists-Steals triple double. Franklin scored 19 points while collecting 10 assists and a mind boggling 15 steals.

The Lady Eagles face Atlantic Shores at home on Tuesday, February 2nd in what should be a great night of basketball! We look forward to seeing all the Big Blue Crew in the house for this huge home Metro contest!
