WCA Smites Saints at Home, Stymied by Warriors on the Road

Last week, our Eagle Hoops teams hosted the Saints from Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and traveled on the road for a Tourney game against Capitol Christian in Landover, Maryland.

On Thursday the WCA Boys JV defeated Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, 66-56. Chester Makoi led the Eagles in scoring with a career high 25 points and 6 Blocks, Ethan Conrad also had 21 points for a great team win, the JV Eagles are now 2-0.

The Varsity Boys defeated Nansemond Suffolk 84-69 in a well played game. Cle’von Greene pumped in a career high 42 points followed by DaShawn Cook’s 20 points and RaShawn Cook’s 10 points. The Eagles improved to 2-0 on the season going into a tournament game versus Capitol Christian Academy in the Coaches Vs. Cancer Showcase. In a very physical contest that required the team to play tough, Capitol Christian Academy and their front line of three players over 6′-7″ pulled away from our quicker Eagles squad for a final score loss of 84-63, but another out of conference game that will pay dividends as the season progresses and many of our players gain much needed game experience. .

Our next home game is Tuesday 11/6 vs Portsmouth Christian and will be our first “Blue Out” game of the season so please plan to attend with your Blue on and support your EAGLES!
