WILLIAMSBURG CHRISTIAN ACADEMY ANNOUNCES NEW HEAD OF SCHOOL AND TWO ADDITIONAL LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

Williamsburg Christian Academy (WCA) announced the appointment of Dr. David Breslin as its new Head of School on Wednesday, March 9th, after an extensive search process which started last year.

Dave is currently serving at North Cobb Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia. He will complete the current school year at North Cobb prior to relocating to Williamsburg with his wife and two children in June. In 1993, Dave received his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University in Elementary Education, where Dave was also the Captain of the Lacrosse team. He received his M.Ed. in 2007 from Harvard University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2015.

imageDave’s career spans 23 years in Christian education and administration at several schools in Virginia and Georgia. He began his career as a middle school teacher, coach and Athletic Director at Chesapeake Academy, in Irvington, Va. before moving to Covenant Christian School in Charlottesville, Va. where he taught and coached for 12 years.

Dave and his family relocated to Georgia where Dave served as a high school teacher, coach and Department Chair at Wesleyan School. Now at North Cobb Christian School, Dave is the current Middle School Principal leading more than 300 middle school students and 36 staff members. Some of Dave’s responsibilities include daily operations, budgets, curriculum, spiritual leadership, and faculty/staff development programs, as well as coaching football and lacrosse, and teaching World History and Bible classes. A lifelong coach of many different sports, Dave is a five-time Va. State Champion winning coach, and three-time Va. State Coach of the Year award recipient.

WCA is also pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Campbell to the position of Head of Administration, effective March 1st. A newly created position, the Head of Administration will oversee all business and support operations of the school, including finance, accounting, human resources, facilities, development, marketing and admissions.

imageRob has a deep love for Christian education and ministry. Prior to joining WCA, Rob had built an excellent career around successful business administration, industrial and financial management, and included work with several non-profits. Rob began his career in 1976 at Newport News Shipbuilding, where he graduated and later taught at the Apprentice School. He then started and operated his own business, R. J. Campbell Builder, for 12 years as a successful custom home builder in Williamsburg. The call to ministry then brought him to Williamsburg Community Chapel where he spent nearly 19 years as Executive of Administration. Rob and his wife Tina have lived in Williamsburg for the past 32 years.

imageIn addition to Breslin and Campbell, WCA is pleased to announce that current Director of Educational Enrichment, Beth Fletcher, accepted the position of Head of Upper School starting in June. She will also retain her position as Director of Educational Enrichment. Known to many in Williamsburg, where she resides with her husband, Beth has worked at WCA for the past 12 years as a teacher, Head of Middle School, and Director of Educational Enrichment. Prior to WCA, Beth worked as an Educational Therapist in northern Va. She received a B.A. in Psychology in 1989 from American University and a M.S.W. in Social Work from Gallaudet University. Both of her children graduated from WCA and are currently continuing their education at Va. Tech and James Madison University.
