Last week, a select group of our middle school students attended the ASCI Math Olympics competition at Denbigh Baptist school. An annual competition, Math Olympics is a series of tests with each test considered as a round. The competition is split into two categories (arithmetic computation and mathematical reasoning) and consists of 4 rounds. Students in grades 3-8 are eligible to participate. Ribbons are awarded to the top five students in each grade and category.
Among our entries, two participants placed in the Top 5, both from the 7th grade. Ivy McLean was able to score fourth, and Harrison Zima took his category with a first place overall finish.
Congratulations to all participants in this year’s Math Olympics!
