Eagle Swim’s Kaitlyn Sullivan in First VISAA Top 16 in Two Events
8th Grader Headed to VISAA State Championships February 16th/17th
The first swim Top 16 time sheet was released this past week, and Eagle Swim 8th Grader Kaitlyn Sullivan is currently ranked 7th in the state’s independent schools league, VISAA, in both the 200 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Freestyle events. Sullivan currently competes as a junior varsity swimmer, since the team committed to swim primarily JV meets in its first two seasons.
The four swimmer medley relay of Delaney Gibbons, Mary Nice, Sullivan and Lainey Flanagan also debuted at 16th in the state. Due to both Nice and Gibbons being younger than 8th grade, however, the relay cannot swim in the State Championship Meet.
Sullivan has qualified for VISAA State Championships with those times. Ninth grade teammate Lainey Flanagan will likely join her when the two travel to the varsity Division 2 Championships in 3 weeks.
