Night of Fine Arts: Why Your Student Should Audition!

The auditions for ‘ A Night of Fine Arts’ are quickly approaching. Many students do not feel they are skilled enough to participate or may be intimidated by the concept of auditions. If you have read our auditions ads the past few weeks, however, there are exposition categories for even the most bashful student!

Almost every student has some type of artistic interest, whether it be singing, acting, drawing, origami, even doodling or taking cool photos on their iPhone. Then there are the budding videographers, sculptors, fashion designers and instrument musicians. We will have displays or performances geared to all of these categories and just about any other type of creative effort at this year’s show.

Auditions will be held both Monday and Tuesday, September 25th and 26th, immediately after school at 3:15 in the cafetorium.  The audition is primarily to determine where the artists are with their concepts or performances, so a path can be set on how to have a workable piece or display by the Night of Fine Arts event, and to connect students with resources that may help them have the most engaging and compelling presentation possible the night of the show.  Artists planning on presenting visual arts displays should bring samples of their work or at least a plan on what they will be creating for the show.

Most importantly, however, is that Night of Fine Arts is fun! By participating, your student will get to see artworks and performances by many of their peers, which often surprising!

Night of Fine Arts is Friday, November 3rd starting at 7PM. Even if your student decides not to participate, we hope that you will plan on attending, and make a night out of it!

Any questions about Night of Fine Arts should be directed to our Director of Fine Arts, Chelsea Meisinger.
