Eagles JV Basketball Suffers Season-Opening Loss

WCA JV Boys basketball kicked its season off prior to the varsity game against a potent Life Christian Academy squad. The Eagles never were able to get their shots to drop, and fell behind early, before closing in the 4th quarter, ultimately losing 44-33. Sophomore Jalen Vaughan led all scorers with 12 points. Ethan Conrad had 9 points.

Eagles Split in Tip-Off Classic

The JV squad competed the weekend before Thanksgiving in the Williamsburg Parks and Rec sponsored Tip-Off Classic, and earned one win and one loss at the tourney. The team put forth a solid effort against Bruton High School, winning 82-47, before falling to Jamestown High 46-42. Connor Simmons had a breakout offensive performance against Bruton with 31 points, but was unable to repeat the effort against Jamestown, as he mustered 7 points against the Eagles. Jalen Vaughan led all scorers in the Jamestown contest with 14 points, and also poured in 20 versus Bruton.

The JV team opens its Metro Season against always tough Atlantic Shores Christian tonight at Shores.
